Professor Thibaud Damy, MD, PhD is a leading cardiologist and internationally recognized expert in cardiac amyloidosis, currently serving as Head of the National Referral Center for Cardiac Amyloidosis at AP-HP Henri Mondor Hospital. He is also Professor of Cardiology at University Paris-Est Créteil and Head of the Heart Failure and Amyloidosis Unit.
With over two decades of clinical and academic experience, Professor Damy has played a central role in advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and management of cardiac amyloidosis. In 2009, he co-founded the Mondor Amyloidosis Network, a multidisciplinary platform integrating clinical care and research to improve patient outcomes. His center has managed more than 1,000 patients referred for suspected or confirmed cardiac amyloidosis, establishing it as a major European referral hub.
His research spans epidemiology, pathophysiology, early diagnosis, and treatment of amyloidosis, with particular contributions to diagnostic approaches using biomarkers, echocardiography, and scintigraphy. In parallel, his work in heart failure research includes right ventricular function, pulmonary pressures, and early detection of cardiac dysfunction.
Professor Damy is actively involved in multiple national and international collaborations, including European amyloidosis registries and research networks, contributing to global efforts to improve recognition and management of this underdiagnosed disease.
As a Global Advisory Board Member of Amyloidosis Africa, he brings world-class expertise and strategic leadership, supporting efforts to strengthen early diagnosis, expand research capacity, and align African initiatives with international standards.
