Prof. Adel Hassan Allam is Professor of Cardiology at Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, with extensive expertise in nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular imaging, and cardiac amyloidosis. He completed advanced training as a Research Fellow in Nuclear Cardiology at Yale University School of Medicine and has contributed to the development of diagnostic approaches for cardiac amyloidosis in Egypt.

His clinical and academic work focuses on cardiac amyloidosis, nuclear cardiology, multimodality cardiovascular imaging, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, and cardiovascular diagnostics. He has contributed to advancing the use of non-invasive diagnostic pathways, including bone-avid radionuclide scintigraphy, for the evaluation of transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis.

As Continental Lead – Nuclear Cardiology & Amyloidosis Diagnostics (Africa) at Amyloidosis Africa, Prof. Allam provides scientific leadership in nuclear cardiology and cardiac amyloidosis diagnostics across the continent. His role includes supporting evidence-based diagnostic standards, education and capacity building, and providing expert input into the nuclear imaging components of the African Cardiac Amyloidosis Registry (ACAR) and other Amyloidosis Africa research initiatives.
