Dr. Zainab Raissuni, MD, PhD, FESC, is a cardiologist, academic physician, and researcher with expertise in cardiovascular imaging and heart failure management. She serves as Professor of Cardiology and Chair of the Department of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Tangier in Morocco, where she is actively involved in clinical care, medical education, and cardiovascular research.
Dr. Raissuni holds both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), reflecting her combined background in clinical medicine and scientific research. She is also a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), recognizing her contributions to cardiovascular medicine and professional leadership within the cardiology community.
Her work focuses on advancing cardiovascular diagnostics, strengthening heart failure management, and promoting clinical research and education. Through her academic and clinical leadership, she contributes to improving cardiovascular care and training future healthcare professionals in the region.
Within Amyloidosis Africa, Dr. Raissuni serves on the Advocacy Board, supporting initiatives that aim to increase awareness of cardiac amyloidosis, encourage collaboration among clinicians, and promote improved recognition of the disease within the broader heart failure landscape across Africa.
