Professor Félicité Kamdem is a distinguished Professor of Medicine and Cardiology based in Cameroon, recognized for her clinical excellence, academic leadership, and impactful research in cardiovascular health across sub-Saharan Africa. She serves as a Physician and Adult and Paediatric Cardiologist at the Douala General Hospital (Hôpital Général de Douala), a leading tertiary referral center in the region.
She is also a Professor within the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Douala, where she plays a key role in training, mentoring, and supervising the next generation of healthcare professionals and researchers in cardiology and internal medicine.
Professor Kamdem currently serves as the Cameroon Society of Cardiology, where she provides national leadership in advancing cardiovascular care, strengthening professional collaboration, and promoting research and education across Cameroon. Through this role, she contributes to shaping the strategic direction of cardiology practice and policy at the national level.
Her research portfolio addresses critical priorities in African cardiovascular health, including hypertension management, congenital heart disease, cardiac outcomes following interventions, and cardiovascular conditions in pregnancy. She has also contributed to innovative approaches such as digital health interventions and has supervised doctoral research focused on improving quality of life among patients with cardiovascular diseases.
With over 60 peer-reviewed publications and a strong citation record, Professor Kamdem has significantly influenced clinical practice and research in the region. Her work continues to inform evidence-based strategies and improve patient outcomes in resource-constrained settings.
As an Advisory Board Member, she brings deep expertise in clinical cardiology, academic research, and health system challenges in sub-Saharan Africa.
