Dr Richie Kipenge is a cardiologist, hypertension specialist, and interventional cardiology fellow based in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with extensive experience in cardiovascular medicine, clinical care, academic teaching, and cardiovascular research. He currently works at Gecamines S.A. and serves as a Teaching and Research Assistant at University Clinics of Lubumbashi.

Dr Kipenge completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Institut de Cardiologie d’Abidjan and holds a University Diploma (DIU) in arterial hypertension and cardiovascular and renal complications from University of Strasbourg. He also completed advanced training in epidemiology through the Institute of Public Health, Epidemiology and Development (ISPED).

His clinical and research interests include coronary artery disease, hypertension, heart failure, preventive cardiology, and interventional cardiovascular medicine. He combines clinical practice with academic and research activities focused on improving cardiovascular care and strengthening cardiovascular medicine in underserved settings.

As Regional Lead – Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) within Amyloidosis Africa, Dr Richie Kipenge supports regional cardiovascular awareness initiatives, scientific collaboration, research development, and efforts aimed at improving the recognition, diagnosis, and management of complex cardiovascular diseases, including cardiac amyloidosis, across Central Africa and the wider Francophone region.
