Dr. Ismaël Oumarou is a cardiologist from Niger with training in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiology. He completed his medical education at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM) in Havana, Cuba, and later specialized in Cardiology at the Instituto de Cardiología y Cirugía Cardiovascular, where he obtained his postgraduate training in cardiovascular sciences.

His clinical work focuses on the diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure and structural heart disease. Dr. Oumarou has also pursued additional training in echocardiography, strengthening his expertise in cardiovascular imaging and diagnostic cardiology.

As Country Lead for Niger within Amyloidosis Africa, he supports efforts to raise awareness of cardiac amyloidosis among clinicians, facilitate communication with cardiology professionals, and encourage participation in collaborative initiatives such as physician surveys, education programs, and research discussions.

Through his involvement in the initiative, Dr. Oumarou contributes to building a growing network of clinicians across Africa working to improve recognition of cardiac amyloidosis within the broader heart failure landscape.
