His research interests include advanced cardiac imaging, echocardiography, image processing, quantitative imaging analysis, and AI-assisted diagnostic technologies. Dr Elzieny has contributed to multiple research projects involving complex multiparameter imaging datasets, computational imaging analysis, and digital cardiovascular research applications.
He previously worked as a cardiologist in Egypt at Utopia Clinics in the Red Sea region, Misr Hospital in South Sinai, and South Sinai Hospital. He also served as a Research Associate at Boston University School of Medicine before advancing to his current academic and research roles.
Dr Elzieny earned his MBBCh in Medicine and Surgery from Mansoura University and completed a Master of Science in Cardiology and Angiology at Menoufia University.
Within Amyloidosis Africa, Dr Ali Elzieny supports the organization’s strategic efforts in artificial intelligence, digitalization, imaging innovation, and advanced cardiovascular data systems. He contributes to the development of AI-enabled cardiovascular research initiatives, digital imaging workflows, and collaborative research infrastructure aimed at strengthening early diagnosis and precision cardiovascular medicine across Africa. He also supports the Core Laboratory (Core Lab) activities related to imaging analysis, quantitative data interpretation, and multicenter cardiovascular imaging standardization.
